Devin Morton was a standout football player for West Point from 2012-15 and graduated in 2016, earning a football scholarship to Hinds Community College.

Morton continued his success as an Eagle and earned a scholarship to play for Division II Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee.

Morton said he chose to do his signing day at West Point because the school and program had given so much to him during his time as a student.

“I just wanted to come back and show everyone that my hard work has paid off,” Morton said. “Everyone in West Point is one big, happy family, so I came back to celebrate with family.”

Morton has shown the ability to play multiple positions on the offensive line during his junior college career. He has played the center and guard positions at Hinds and has been recruited to play the same positions at the next level.

“I am just excited to expand my knowledge and get my degree, and to become a better person and athlete,” Morton said. “It’s a different area than I’m used to so I’ll have to adapt and make new friends.”

After succeeding at the junior college level, Morton believes the experience of already having adapted to a higher level of football - from high school to junior college - will help him in his next transition.

“Mississippi JUCO is respected all over and it is a high level of football that we play,” Morton said. “I feel like I will be ready for the next level.”

Morton plans on pursuing his bachelors degree in Computer Science.
