MBN searching for Pheba drug suspect

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics is searching for a Pheba man who fled when officers attempted to arrest him Thursday as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

MBN Director John Dowdy said state narcotics agents and local officers executing a search warrant at the residence of 36-year-old Marcus Torell Starks discovered roughly 106 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $10,620.

Starks, who is the subject of an 18-month drug investigation, fled when agents attempted to arrest him.

Dowdy said Starks currently faces sale of methamphetamine, trafficking of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and felony fleeing charges.

The Clay County Sheriff's Department and West Point Police Department are also assisting in the investigation.
