Around Oak Hill's Region

Marshall Academy Patriots

The Marshall Academy Patriots dropped their season opener against MAIS AAA Lee Academy and haven’t lost another, sitting at 7-1 and 3-0 in District 1.

The Patriots and Oak Hill will battle it out tonight for the district championship, as the 2-1 Raiders would own the tiebreaker with a win. If Oak Hill loses, it could end up in a two- or three-way tie for second place with Winona Christian and Central Holmes Christian.

Winona Christian Stars

Winona Christian has already played its final district game and will have to sit back and see what unfolds tonight. The best-case scenario for Winona is for Central Holmes to lose to Carroll Academy.

If the two teams both end up at 2-2, then Winona loses the tiebreaker based off head-to-head. The worst possible scenario for the Stars is for Oak Hill and Central Holmes to both win tonight.

Winona Christian will play a non-district game against MAIS AAA Winston Academy tonight.

Central Holmes Christian vs Carroll Academy

This game is just as important as the Marshall Academy and Oak Hill game tonight. This one decides who will advance to the playoffs and who will be sitting at home next Friday.

Central Holmes could end up as high as second place, in the right scenario, or they could miss the postseason altogether.

The Trojans would have to take care of business against Carroll Academy and have Oak Hill lose to Marshall Academy for a shot at second-place, while a loss to Carroll (0-3 in District 1) would give both teams a district record of 1-3, and the Rebels would own the head-to-head tiebreaker.
