One teenager is charged with aggravated assault and another man undergoes surgery after a shooting Thursday night outside the West Point Deli on North Division at Bugg Street just a few blocks from downtown.

Natrell Tanneric Cox, 19, was charged Friday morning in connection with the shooting, which occurred at about 10:30 p.m.

The victim, who was shot in the arm and shoulder area, underwent surgery Friday at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo for ligament damage.

Investigators hope security video sheds more light on what happened.

Police have not released information about the age of the victim, possible motives, or weapons involved.

In an unrelated case, West Point Police are seeking information in a home burglary on Fifth Street North. It was reported Thursday. Three laptop computers, several canisters of change from a church fundraiser, and an Xbox 360 were taken.

Anyone with information should contact Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
