West Point police will be enforcing the "Click It or Ticket" campaign for the last weekend of the nationwide effort.
"It's all about safety and saving lives," Capt. Virginia Rich said of the effort which will feature saturation patrols and traffic stops between 2 and 6 p.m. today and safety checkpoints Saturday night.

Driver's not only are responsible for themselves wearing seat belts but also their front and back seat passengers.

That applies to child restraint devices as well.

Officers will be stopping cars for seat belt violations and can prosecute other violations during the traffic stops.
The national effort started last week leading into the Memorial Day weekend and continues through Saturday night. The idea is to stress safety entering the bust summer driving months.
