Looking around Oak Hill's district: Week Five

Oak Hill has put themselves into a position to come out of their district as the champions and take the number one seed into the playoffs.
Central Holmes Christian 3-2 (0-2).

First Five Weeks: The Trojans have had a great start to the season outside of the district, going 3-0 in the non-district slate. The problem for them is the district slate is what determines whether or not you advance to the playoffs.
Central Holmes has won non-district contests over Deer Creek Academy, Benton Academy and Benton Academy, but they were defeated soundly in their first two district games against Marshall Academy and Winona Christian.
What’s Next: The Trojans will step out of the district over the next two weeks. They’ll travel to Hatley on Friday night before coming home to take on Strider Academy. Central Holmes’ next district contest will come when they travel to Oak Hill.

Winona Christian 3-2 (1-1)

First Five Weeks: The Stars have had an up and down start to the beginning of the season. They’re 3-2 on the year with victories over Ethel, Parklane Academy and Central Holmes Christian.
The Stars lost their second district contest of the year, as they traveled to West Point and Oak Hill dominated them on the defensive side of the football.
The Stars were able to get back into the win column last week when they got a home victory over Parklane Academy.

What’s Next: The Stars will play Marshall Academy in a game which will go a long way in determining their playoff fate. Finishing outside of the top two will be a detriment getting into the playoffs, so it’s critical for the Stars to avoid a 1-2 district start.

Marshall Academy

First Five Weeks: After starting off 0-1 on the season, the Patriots have rebounded and look to be one of the best teams in the district.
Marshall has put themselves into a position to win the district championship after starting off 1-0 in district after beating Central Holmes Christian on Friday night. They have a win over West Memphis Christian and dominated Kirk Academy in a 35-6 blowout.

What’s Next: The Patriots will host Winona Christian next week as they’ll look to improve to 2-0 in the district. After the game against the stars, Marshall will travel to Manchester Academy.
Carroll Academy
First Five Weeks: The Rebels got into district play last Friday night as they fell to Oak Hill 17-14 on Friday night. Carroll has some impressive wins over the first few weeks over Kirk Academy and Desoto School.
What’s Next: The Rebels will travel to Manchester Academy and then host Strider Academy, before playing three district games in a row against Marshall, Winona Christian and Central Holmes Christian, respectively
