The entire North Mississippi Medical Center system, including NMMC-West Point, is slowly adding back postponed services as COVID-19 test numbers remain static.
NMMC System Director of Public Relations Marsha Tapscott said elective surgeries were opening back up in West Point next week, having already resumed in Tupelo this week.
However, she said test sites would remain open.
In addition to West Point, elective procedures will also return to NMMC Hamilton and NMMC Gilmore Amory. Elective surgeries were halted until April 27 by the shelter-in-place order issued by Gov. Tate Reeves. However, essential procedures continued through the order.
