Oak Hill falls, honors senior class

The game was almost over before it even started.
Canton Academy scored eight runs in the first inning, and Melanie Crum blanked the Oak Hill Lady Raiders (2-18) inside the pitching circle as the Lady Panthers won their ninth game in three innings, 16-0, Monday at Kim Keller Field in West Point.
“We have done surprisingly well this season,” Canton Head Coach Lance Anderson said. “We only returned three starters and had little experience. I am very impressed that we have come out with nine wins this season.”

Tyler Logan always looks to make an impact on the football field. As a starting defensive player for the West Point Green Wave, the senior understands the magnitude of Friday nights, and the actions it takes to win a football game.
But it is Logan's actions off the field that are worth noting and even more poignant for his family and the community.

West Point overpowers Columbus

COLUMBUS – After a sloppy first half, West Point rose to the top against the Columbus Falcons in the final two quarters Friday in Columbus.
Senior Demontae Rush carried for two touchdowns in the second half, and senior Dason Thomas passed for two touchdowns in the Green Wave’s 35-7 win over the Falcons (0-3).

Oak Hill grabs district win, dispatches Winston

LOUISVILLE – The Oak Hill Raiders slushed through a downpour to claim a 14-0 win over the Winston Patriots Friday at Winston Academy in Louisville. Senior Riley Pierce connected with sophomore Ken Dill twice on a 5-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter and a 60-yard touchdown pass in the third.
