Tickets are still available for the 87th Annual Banquet, hosted by the Growth Alliance that will take place tonight and will feature a night of awards, recognition of community leaders, West Point Hall of Fame inductions and the keynote speaker, Roger Pryor.
Pryor is a native of West Point and graduated from West Point High School.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Tech and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
Married to wife Mary Ann and the father five sons and two daughters, Pryor runs a successful north Mississippi architecture firm, Pryor and Morrow Architects.
He and Chris Morrow have been in business since 1986.
The firm today has 27 professionals.
Pryor has always had an interest in historical preservation, and some of his noted works are the West Point Water and Light Building and the renovation of the West Point City Hall and the Henry Clay Hotel.
He also worked on the renovation of the Ritz Theater and the Southern Ionics Corporate Offices in West Point.
Tonight, Pryor will be speaking on the recent renovations being done to the McClure Building on Commerce Street, which will be dedicated to showcasing local artists’ works and expanding the Howlin’ Wolf Blues Museum.
The Banquet will start at 6 p.m on the Community Counseling campus at the old Mary Holmes College. Tickets are $25.
