Oak Hill Academy split in a pair of district games this past weekend against Leake Academy and Manchester Academy. The Lady Raiders and Lady Rebels, two teams that will undoubtedly face off in the district championship come February, were neck and neck after a very competitive first quarter that favored Leake 16-10. As the game got scrappy and the pace was slowed down, the Lady Rebels barely spread the lead out to make it a 28-19 game at halftime. Oak Hill never could manage to cut the lead any lower than nine, and the foul-laden third quarter came to an end with Leake holding a 40-30 advantage. In the final period of play, the Lady Rebels took over, holding Oak Hill to nine points in the quarter while scoring 20 of their own to grab a 60-39 victory.
The Lady Raiders were plagued by poor shooting from the field- they shot 28.5 percent- and the free throw line, where they converted 11 of their 22 freebies. The difference in the game was Leake’s ability to shut down Shay Atkins, who finished with two points and seven rebounds on the night. Rachel Herndon led Oak Hill in scoring with 15 points, followed by Maegen Ellis with 13. Anna Ready and Sarah Dill scored four points a piece, while Lauren Billington and Sydney Holton added two points each on the night.
The junior Lady Raiders won in thrilling fashion with a 47-45 victory. Sarah Dill and Sydney Holton led in scoring with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Rachel Herndon recorded a double-double on the night with 11 points and 10 boards. Shay Atkins and Maegen Ellis also scored 11 each. Sarah Dill and Lauren Billington added six and three points, respectively, while Bet Langley and Kelci Jo Langford finished with two a piece.
