The Prairie Belt PowerSite has made its world debut. Now the economic development team that made all of it possible will go to work trying to land an industrial project that will bring jobs to West Point.
A number of high-powered local and state officials were on hand to unveil the 1,100 acre powersite on Tuesday evening.
More than 300 people from the community and surrounding counties showed up to see the much-anticipated site as well.
“The development of this powersite has been instrumental because of partnerships,” said Clay County Economic Director Ron Maloney. “It’s not just the work of the LINK and the economic developers alone, but our success is the result of strong partnerships.”
Among those in attendance on Tuesday night were county and city officials who have been behind this county’s economic development team 100 percent in the last few months.
Due to the proximity of the event to press time, the Daily Times Leader will continue its coverage of the site throughout the week.
