It was all business at the Tuesday night meeting of the Pilot Club of West Point.
New officers were installed during the last meeting and the Pilots are starting the 2012-2013 year. President Debra Cole was at the helm and opened the floor for discussion of the upcoming Pilot International Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cole and several other club members are making last minute arrangements to attend the convention and represent the Pilot Club of West Point.
Cole then asked the committee members of each division within the club to submit their projected budgets for projects and expenditures for the year.
Janice Brasfield is over the Oak Hill Academy Anchor Club, and spoke of events, projects, and plans for the club. Brasfield continues working with the Anchors even during the summer months while school is in not in session to keep the girls busy with service to the community. Brasfield reminded the Pilots of the Water Fun Day at the close of the Bryan Public Library Summer Reading Program. The Anchor Club hands out popsicles for the young readers on the last day of the program, Tuesday, July 31.
Each division head handed out the projected budget to the members for their inspection, discussion and approval. The budgets were all met with unanimous approval from the members in a yea or nay vocal vote. Pilot Club Treasurer, Judy Ashmore, presented the overall club budget which was also unanimously approved.
Cole thanked the Pilots for all their hard work in putting together the budgets and having everything ready for submission. The Pilot Club of West Point is looking forward to another great year.
