Hebron Christian School moved back to the win column on Monday after a 4-1 victorty over Central Academy to start district play.
Holly Hudson and Beverly Blake each had a pair of hits and a run to lead the Lady Eagles who are coming off a tough loss to Heritage Academy last Thursday.
Hudson singled in the first inning and would later score on a single by Chloe Tapley following a throwing error. The Lady Eagles doubled their lead in the second after Brooke Griffin walked and later scored.
The runs continued in the third inning when Blake doubled and would then finish on third base after a error from the outfield. She would later score on ground out by Brynn Latham. Hebron added another in the sixth when Hudson singled home Alaina Hill from second. Hill reached base on a walk and would later get into scoring position after stealing second.
Despite scoring four runs, the Lady Eagles left 10 runners on base. Head
coach Cass Tapley was still happy with the win.
“Every win or loss is going to be just a few runs either way,” he said. “Beverly and Holly had a nice game at the plate. Chloe kept us in it on defense. It was a typical game for us.”
Tapley again had another solid outing; seven innings, three hits and 12 strikeouts. Tapley, Tori Nichols and Shelby Arnold rounded out the hits for the Lady Eagles.
The JV game was rained out after 1/2 inning of play.
Hebron will be back in action on Thursday when they host Kemper Academy. First pitch is slated for 5 pm.View more articles in:
