Lady Eagles 58,
Lady Rams 29
PHEBA — Rebekah Falkner scored a game-high 16 points, Holly Hudson and Alaina Hill reached double figures with 10 points each and the Hebron Christian Lady Eagles (3-2; 3-0 District 3-A) defeated the Kemper Lady Rams, 58-29, in a MAIS basketball game Tuesday on the campus of Hebron Christian School.
“When you get an early lead, it allows you to work on the specifics with the first unit,” Hebron Head Coach Bruce Franks said. “We need all them hitting on the same cylinders.”
Alicia Dempsey led the Lady Rams with 10 points during the losing effort. Alli Vick was the second leading scorer for Kemper with seven points.
Hebron jumped out to a 20-2 lead before closing the first quarter of action still holding an 18-point advantage, 24-6. The Lady Eagles remained dominant in the final eight minutes of the first half, taking a 32-12 lead into the halftime intermission.
Though typically not a leading scorer, senior Subrina Oswalt set the defensive tone for the Lady Eagles in their third consecutive district win over Kemper.
“I really though Subrina Oswalt played really well tonight,” Franks said. “The biggest thing with Subrina is she can struggle offensively, but she always brings the defense. She will always do whatever it takes to help her team win.”
