It’s the buzz of the town: right? Will the city’s selectmen pass a smoke-free ordinance as surrounding cities have? Well, Stephanie Collier, Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition representative, isn’t twiddling her thumbs waiting around for a response.
Collier has spent the better part of this week traversing surrounding counties — more specifically the housing authorities for each respective county — to address the issue of second-hand smoke and its often harmful consequences. And here’s the kicker: As if second-hand smoke isn’t an already thriving topic ripe for a debate class, third-hand smoke has been established as a similarly harmful side-effect of cigarette smoke.
