A calm Halloween night? It might, at first, sound unbelievable, but Thursday night was just that.
The general consensus among law enforcement entities is the lack of mayhem that might generally be associated with Halloween night can easily be attributed to the inclement weather Thursday evening.
“It went smooth,” said West Point Police Chief Tim Brinkley. “There weren't a whole lot of issues.”
Brinkley said there was one incident which stood out, but ultimately ended in an undisrupted All Hallows Eve night.
“We had one incident of shots being fired in the south end of town,” said Brinkley. “At least one individual was detained in that (incident).”
However, Halloween night generally fails to present “any more challenges than any other night,” said Brinkley. Due to the weather, more children than not were chaeuffered by their respective guardians.
