PHEBA — Hebron Christian (6-3; 3-0 District 7-A) scored three touchdowns with runs from seniors Justin Gordon and Brandon England in its first five offensive plays en route to a shellshocking win over Friendship Christian, 52-6, in a MAIS non-district eight-man tilt on the campus of Hebron Christian School as a part of senior night.
"I had good effort from my guys," Hebron Christian Head Coach David Foster said. "We spread the ball around running it and we got to play a lot of our younger guys. I think we are a different ball club than we were when the season started."
Gordon accounted for the first two touchdowns on runs of 36 yards and 40 yards, respectively. The senior running back accounted for four rushing carries for 116 yards. Gordon also converted a two-point conversion in the first quarter.
England scored the third touchdown on a three-yard touchdown dive to give the Eagles 20 unanswered points in the beginning of the game. England would score again when sophomore signal caller Channing Tapley found the fullback on a 41-yard touchdown pass, giving Hebron a 28-6 lead by the end of the first quarter.
The Hebron defense was swarming against its non-district opponent tallying its fourth defensive shut out of the season. Junior Drew Myatt collected an interception and sprinted 59 yards for a touchdown in the second-quarter to extend the Hebron lead, 36-6. Sophomore Landon Hill and senior Hayden Carty caged an interception a piece.
