Travion Clay was just 4 years old when doctors told his mother, Sanreca, that her son likely would not live through the year.
Travion, now 8, has been battling a malignant nerve sheath tumor – an aggressive and rare strain of cancer – which has steadily been attacking his spinal cord, and after four years, his health is in a state of serious decline. However, Sanreca said her child had never been entirely healthy. From the time he was 5 months old, Travion has been afflicted with a number of ailments, beginning with pneumonia and the development of severe asthma.
Then, in 2010, after a string of ailments, Sanreca said doctors referred Travion to a specialist, who discovered what appeared to be a “spider tumor” in his chest.
