The Yokohama Tire Company manufacturing plant project brings a number of new things to the community, not the least of which is an increase in interest for new business, according to West Point Planning Commission Chairman Pete O’Shea.
O’Shea said the commission had recently fielded interest from business owners concerning new establishments or expanding existing businesses, which he attributed to the development of the plant. With those requests, however, comes a certain amount of responsibility on behalf of the interested parties hoping to develop in West Point, particularly as it relates to adhering to city building codes.
