When Dason Thomas moved from Starkville to West Point and began attending the West Point Junior High School in the seventh-grade, Josh Ewing honestly was not the biggest fan.
“In the seventh-grade, it was kind of rocky,” West Point junior quarterback Ewing said. “He was from Starkville and I am from West Point, you know how the rivalry typically goes.”
But after sharing the same team colors, locker room and representing the same community for the past five years, the pair of junior quarterbacks have built a close bond and friendship while competing for the same position weekly for a starting role on Friday night.
“Knowing Dason since the seventh-grade, we have become best friends,” Ewing said. “We have grown a bond and he is a like a brother to me. I will do anything to help him out.”
