Brock Turnipseed with Mississippi State University Relations spoke on the upcoming year in MSU athletics, citing past successes as the foundation for further development in the program. Turnipseed told Rotarians the department was in the process of trying to “brand the program” through social media initiatives. In particular, Turnipseed said MSU had become the first college in the nation to establish a presence on FanCred, a site that operates much like Twitter, however feeds were specific fan bases.
Turnipseed said the new media outlet would allow coaches to interact with fans more directly online, and provide insight into athlete backgrounds.
