The staff of the Hampton Inn and Suites of West Point truly have something to be proud about, as they were notified just last week that they will soon be the recipients of the Hilton Circle of Excellence Award.
The Circle of Excellence Award, given out each year, is only given to Hilton’s hotels, which rank in the top ten percent when it comes to product quality and guest satisfaction. Out of 676 total Hampton Inn and Suites across the planet, the West Point Hampton Inn and Suites ranked number 52, putting the hotel in the top 10 percent. The hotels are assessed through periodical walk-throughs by a Hilton quality assurance team as well as guest surveys that are submitted to Hilton’s corporate office.
West Point’s Hampton Inn Co-owner Christopher Decamp said he is overjoyed by the excellent guest service exemplified by the 20-member staff of the Hampton in West Point. He expressed his appreciation to General Manager Tracy Styron, who has been with the Hampton of West Point since it opened in July of 2009, Assistant General Manager Artavia Logan, the housekeeping staff, the front desk clerks and everyone associated with the hotel.
“The front desk clerks meet and greet everybody with smiling faces, our breakfast lady has been with us since we opened – she’s here every morning making sure everybody’s getting their coffee and breakfast food; everybody has gone the extra mile here,” Decamp said. “Housekeeping is really where a lot of your surveys come in because if someone checks into a dirty room they’re unhappy. If someone is not greeted with a smile they’re going to let you know pretty quickly. So friendliness and hard work are the two biggest things as well as loyalty. We have about eight people who have been here from the very beginning. They have a lot of pride in it and want it to be the best.”
The Hampton Inn and Suites of West Point has 70 rooms, including suites, an exercise facility, free hot breakfast and other great features for guests.
