Demetrice Alonda King, age 37, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, in Columbus.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, from U.F.C.W. Local #1991 Union Hall, with Rev. Gene King officiating. Burial will follow in Pools Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is 3 – 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 at Carter’s Mortuary Service Chapel.
Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

Jeffie Boatman Hester

Jeffie Boatman Hester passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center - Eupora. She was 88. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Eldon Hester; parents: William and Sallie Boatman; sister, Sue B. Hare; and brother, Billy Boatman. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hester Harpole and her husband Martin of West Point; son, William Eldon Hester of Maben; granddaughter, Sara Beth Harpole Proffitt; and great-grandchildren: McKellar, Maggie and Reuben Proffitt, all of Columbus.

Henry Dean, age 61, passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at his residence in Jackson.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2015, from Hopewell M.B. Church, Cedar Bluff with Bishop Robert Fortson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2 – 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

Sybil Kennedy Bray

Sybil Kennedy Bray, age 91, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit in Tupelo.
She was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Smithville to Charley Jackson Kennedy and Minnie Jane Ford Kennedy. She was a homemaker, sewed for the public, and worked for the Christian book store. She was a member of Faith Bible Church.

Kate Rita Miller, age 78, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center - West Point.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, from Johnson Creek M.B. Church, Pheba, with Dr. Bruce H. Guyton officiating. Burial will follow the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3 – 6 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

Thomas Ray DeLaughter

Thomas Ray DeLaughter, age 80, passed away Jan. 14, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus.
Mr. Thomas was born Feb. 9, 1934, in Lincoln County, the son of the late Milton Ray and Clara Thornhill DeLaughter. He was a Baptist. He married Betty Jean Furr DeLaughter on Feb. 8, 1977, in Brookhaven and she passed away March 4, 2003.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at 11 a.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Cemetery in Mathiston.

Tony 'Pop' Weed

Tony "Pop" Weed, age 62, passed away Jan.13, 2015, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
Tony was born March 19, 1952, in West Point, the son of the late Andrew Melvin and Lucy Jeannette Boyce Weed. Tony loved attending worship services and singing. "Pop" as so many knew him, loved his family. He always had a smile on his face. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers: Donald, James, and Charles Weed.

Lois Jean Winstead Rhodes

Lois Jean Winstead Rhodes, age 81, of West Point, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
She was born Oct. 14, 1933, to the late Merle Lashley and Freeman Winstead.
She is survived by a son, Rickey Richardson of Starkville; daughter, LaJoane Metts of West Point; sister, Joan Landrum of Louisville; two grandchildren: Clint Eubanks (Michelle) of Jackson, Caleb Metts (Virginia) of Tupelo; and four great-grandchildren: Hattie and William Metts, Molly and Macy Aycock.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Katherine Marie Caldwell-Hannah

Katherine Marie Caldwell-Hannah, age 75, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Funeral services are noon today, Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, from St. Paul M.B. Church, with Rev. Eddie A. Longstreet officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Memorial Gardens.
