ID theft suspect sought

The West Point Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying an identity theft suspect.
DTL Staff Report

A West Point man is the victim of identity theft and West Point police need help finding the suspect.

The theft case began last October when a suspect was able to get credit card under the victim's name from Citibank. The card was used once at BankFirst in West Point and again at Woodforest Bank Bank branch in Walmart in Tupelo.

The victim caught the ID theft and shut down the card, according to West Point Police Det. Ramirez Ivy.

Police say they aren't sure how the suspect got enough information to be able to get the card.

They've finally been able to get video of the suspect from the ATM where he used the card at the Tupelo Walmart.. Ivy thinks the suspect may be from the Tupelo area and has sent the video to agencies in that area to see if they recognize the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ivy at 662-494-1244.
