The West Point Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a business on the 700 block of West Main Street that occurred Sept. 23.

WPPD Assistant Chief Albert Lee said two masked men entered the business with guns displayed and took a large sum of cash.

Lee said the two men left on foot running in the direction of West City Limits Road.

There were no injuries.

“There was no video surveillance, so we’re asking for the public’s help solving this crime,” Lee said.

WPPD is also investigating the burglary of a home on Wednesday night on the 2700 block of East Church Hill Road.

Lee said two Porter Cable black and white battery operated drills, a DeWalt yellow battery operated drill and a black and white Porter Cable reciprocating saw were stolen.

Lee said WPPD is also investigating a burglary that occurred Sept. 26 at approximately 5:30 p.m. on the 90 block of Oak Crest Circle.

Lee said a Maverick 12-gauge shotgun with the serial number SRMV3080Y was stolen from the home.

“This time of year, violent crimes tend to peak,” he said. “We ask for citizens on the community to remain safe, be aware of your surroundings and never be alone in dark places.”

Anyone with any information about these or other crimes is encouraged to call WPPD at (662) 494-1244 or the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 530-7151.
