Friends of the Bryan Public Library are sponsoring the seventh annual Valentine Bake Sale and Raffle, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. or until everything is sold, Friday, February 12. The bake sale will be in the Esther Pippen Meeting Room. It is the perfect opportunity to pick up something sweet for Valentines Day.
“This is an event everyone looks forward to in February,” Lucille Armstrong, president of Friends of the Library, said. “We’ll have lots of goodies to buy and raffle tickets for some wonderful items. It’s just a fun day to drop by the library.”
The bake sale is sponsored by The Friends of the Bryan Public Library, to fund various library programs, such as Children’s Summer Reading Program. Friends helps purchase materials for the library, such as books, audio books, movies, and whatever the library needs. There are constant budget cuts for public libraries all over the state of Mississippi. Friends of the Library helps to keep West Point from feeling the brunt of those cuts in the services its library provides. A public library provides so many necessary services to the surrounding area.
