WPCCAC awards Norman Armstrong Arts in Education Grants

The West Point Clay/Clay County Arts Council awarded three Norman Armstrong Arts in Education Grants to teachers at East Side Elementary, Fifth Street Junior High and Central School. More than 500 students will directly benefit from the programs implemented at the schools.
Named for the late Norman Armstrong, one of West Point’s most beloved arts advocates, the Arts in Education Grant Program is available to teachers in area public and private schools.
“Norman ate, slept, and dreamed about the arts,” Lucille Armstrong, widow of Norman Armstrong said. “It was his passion, and he would be so pleased to know our children are having arts experiences integrated into their regular curriculum,”
