Hebron Christian Basketball sweeps Vardaman High School

The Hebron Christian Lady Eagles did not let another one slip away.
Rebekah Falkner tied the game on a free throw and grabbed the lead on a 3-pointer with one minute, 37 seconds remaining that elevated Hebron to a 47-40 win over the Vardaman Lady Rams on Thursday night at Hebron Christian School.
Vardaman rallied past a 12-point deficit during the fourth quarter. Shylysses Rimmer scored 10 points during the quarter, scoring her last basket at the 2:57 mark. Rimmer’s lay-up gave the Lady Rams a 40-39 advantage.
Thirty-one seconds later, Falkner netted her free throw and retook the lead on her long-range score. Elaina Carter scored the final four points, two free throws and a lay-up, sealed the sixth victory of the season.
Victoria Ferguson, a senior center, scored 14 points, including 10 during the first half. Ferguson's powered the Lady Eagles to a 31-23 halftime advantage.
IN THE BOYS' GAME, Clay Faulkner scored 16 points, Channing Tapley added 13, and the Hebron Christian Eagles routed the Vardaman Rams 54-31.
The Eagles scored 15 points in three of the four quarters and held the Rams to single-digit scoring during the first three quarters. Hebron built a 30-12 advantage by halftime.
