West Point improves Region 1-5A positiioning

The West Point Green Wave (5-2; 2-1 Region 1-5A) defeated the Center Hill Mustangs 54-13 on Friday night in Olive Branch. The win was the second consecutive for the Wave, who moved up the Mississippi High School Activities Association's Region 1-5A standings.
West Point, starting a two-game homestand, squares off against the Lake Cormorant Gators at 7 p.m. Friday at McCallister Field in West Point. Lake Cormorant (6-2; 3-0 Region 1-5A) downed the New Hope Trojans 35-24 in the third week of region action. The Gators are tied with the Oxford Chargers (5-2; 3-0 Region 1-5A) for the No. 1 spot in the conference. The extended standings are below (Region record in parenthesis):
