Youth attend conference in Pearl

Twenty-eight members of the Pearlette, Amicette, and Archonette youth groups sponsored by Phi Lambda Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. traveled to Pearl, to attend the 12th Annual Youth Summit Leadership Conference for Zeta Youth in the state of Mississippi. While there, over 300 Pearlettes, Amicettes, and Archonettes networked during a mix and mingle session. Workshops were presented on the following: The Artist In Me, I Am Unique and Exceptional, Civic Engagement, Getting Down to Business, Credit Counseling, Goal Setting, Healthy Life Styles, Elections, and Please Pass the Tea. A talent show. step show and dance served as entertainment for the youth.
An Awards Luncheon was held to recognize the achievements of the youth and clubs. Nineteen youth from Phi Lambda Zeta chapter were awarded Certificates of Recognition for making Honor Roll;
Pearlettes Geniya Tate and Macaria Spencer both tied 2nd place for Pearlette Memory Books; the Amicette Club & Archonette Club of Phi Lambda Zeta chapter earned 1st place in the Scrapbook competition.
Pearlettes (girls ages 4-8), Amicettes (girls ages 9-13), and Archonettes (girls ages 14-18) are mentored by members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to become outstanding leaders in their community. Youth members must be willing to perform community service, make good grades in school, and demonstrate sisterly love towards their fellow club members. Youth advisors for the clubs are Danielle Spencer, Nikita Moore, and Nicole L. Long.
