Wylie Dennis Lang, 78, passed away on March 6, 2014, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Mr. Lang was born August 31, 1935, in Electric Mills, MS, in Kemper County, the son of the late Clyde Hulon and Mary Elizabeth Walker Lang. He was retired from the United States Air Force. He also retired after 28 years of service from Babcock and Wilcox Corporation, retiring as Purchasing Agent. He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. He was a member of the West Point Masonic Lodge #40 F.&A.M. He was a founding member of Running Deer Hunting Club, where he served as President. He married Helen Willmot Lang on July 3, 1957, in Alamogorbo, NM. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Louise Warren, Doris Cazzato, and Jean Williams and by One Brother: Clyde Lang.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Brother Geoffrey Joyner officiating and assisted by Brother Fulton Lindsey. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include His Wife Helen L. Lang of West Point; Two Sons, Mike Fullen (Martha) of Canton and Dennis Lang (Marie) of West Point; 4 grandchildren: Danelle Livingston (David), Sheri Reed (Tom), James "Jim" Lang, and Stacy Berry (Greg) and 7 Great Grandchildren: Zachary Duncan, Landon Livingston, Austin Reed, Tyler Reed, Payton Reed, Ross Berry, and Miranda Berry; One sister, Marie Sanschagrin of Marlow, OK, and three Brothers, Robert Lang (Billie) of West Point, Harold Lang of Starkville and Carter Lang (Linda) of West Point.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Clayton, Wayne Tinker, Reggie Tinker, Scott Tinker, Mike McMinn, Tim Estes, Doug Crowe, and Charlie Davidson.
Memorials may be made to Lone Oak Baptist Church, 1261 Lone Oak Road, West Point, MS 39773.
Visitation will be Sunday 5-8 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
