WPPD investigating Sunday night shooting

Investigators with the West Point Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred around midnight Sunday on Sixth Street near Orr Court.

WPPD Assistant Chief Albert Lee said the shooter or shooters were in a black or dark-colored older car.

There were no injuries.

Lee said another firearm was stolen Sept. 9 from the 500 block of East Street.

Lee said a black .9 mm Reuger semi-automatic pistol with the serial number 32767982, make SR and model LC9S-PRO was stolen from the victim’s vehicle.

Lee said WPPD was still investigating promising leads on the One Stop robbery on Aug. 28.

“We appreciate the calls and the assistance from the community,” he said.
