Business leaders from around the Golden Triangle are set to converge next week in West Point for the regional Business After Hours event.
The event, set to be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 15 at the Ritz Theater and Conference Center on Commerce Street, will bring together business owners and leaders from West Point, Columbus and Starkville for a meet and greet, complete with appetizers and cocktails. In addition to providing regional business owners and economic development leaders the opportunity to converse on a more personal level, the event provides the chance to cultivate entrepreneurial relationships, according to West Point/Clay County Growth Alliance Director Lisa Klutts.
“It allows other business owners, managers and directors to network and make valuable connections,” Klutts said. “… We’ll mingle, and there will be music … it’s a little like a happy hour.”
Klutts said the event is an offshoot of the monthly Business After Hours events conducted in Columbus and Starkville. West Point, too, hosts a quarterly Business After Hours for those in the West Point business community. For the last two years, Klutts said each community hosted a regional event.
