TIBBEE — Nathan Willers’ complete game on the mound lifted the Tibbee Ramblers over the Sessums Trojans, 7-3, in a seven-inning, non-league game Sunday at Roundhead Stadium in Tibbee.
Willers scattered four hits in the outing on 82 pitches. Willers struck out three Trojans.
After Sessums’ two-run third inning, the Ramblers’ starter retired 10 in a row before giving up a one-out walk in the seventh. The dominant stretch allowed Tibbee to build a five-run lead before the final frame, 7-2.
Willers’ impressive pitching performance turned into offensive output at the plate. Willer sparked the Tibbee bats, going two-for-three at the plate with two RBIs. Ryan Unreh also collected a multi-hit game with two hits.
