West Point teams eliminated

July 10, 2011

The 10U boys all-stars World Series dreams came to an end Saturday after they fell to Saltillo, 10-3 meanwhile here at home the 12U girls fell to Louisville 19-13.

"We made to many mistakes running the basepads and too many throwing errors," head coach Keith Holton said. The girls found themselves trailing 10-1 in the third inning before mounting a comeback.

The 12U boys were also eliminated after falling to Clinton.

The 8U Nationals lost two of their final three games yesterday and went home with a fourth place trophy. After losing to Starkville 15-6, the boys topped Mathiston 7-5 before falling to the Columbus Americans in a nail biter, 16-15. "They represented the city of West Point well with their behavior and their play," head coach Sherman Berry said. "I was very happy."
