West Point takes on SHS on the diamond

After a 4-0 win over the Lafayette County Commodores last Thursday, the Diamond Wave will now turn their attention to arch-rival Starkville High School.
Along with the win over Lafayette in the Potontoc tournament, West Point has recorded a victory over Ripley 5-2 and fell on a walk-off hit to New Albany 5-4. The Wave currently sit with a 2-1 record on the season.
Starkville will enter the contest with six games under their belt. The Yellow Jackets currently are holding a 4-2 recorded with wins over Leake Central, Greenville-Weston, Louisville, and Ethel.
Junior varsity will start the evening of baseball with a 5:00 p.m. start. The varsity Wave will get going around 7:00 p.m. This game against Starkville will be the home-opener for West Point as the Wave’s game against Caledonia last Tuesday was postponed.
