West Point seniors recognize influences

January 28, 2013

West Point Green Wave basketball head coach Brad Cox asked his senior basketball players to select a West Point High School teacher that had made an impact in their life. The teachers selected by the players wore the jersey of that player on Friday during the school day and were recognized during halftime of the district home game against Oxford Friday night January 25.
Peair Howard (#1) selected two teachers that had made impacts in his life, Arlander Gathing and Tavita Quin. Representing Lyndon Johnson (#50) was Andrea Wilson. Jamar Nance (#31) chose Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, Emmanuel Moore (#10) was represented by Tavita Quin, and Justin Hosey (#12) selected Alan Leonard.
This honor was the first time the basketball team has done this under Coach Cox and hopes to bestow the honor again next year.
