West Point at home, Hebron and Oak Hill hit the road

January 17, 2012

All three high schools will be in action tonight.

Herbon Christian, who split a pair of games with district foe Winona last Friday, travels to Calhoun for the first of two straight road games and another district tilt.

The Lady Eagles are 4-1 in 3A play, second to only undefeated Kemper Academy while the Eagles, who lost to Winona are currently in third at 2-3.

Oak Hill is also on the road for the second consecutive night at Winston for a 2AA district clash. Both squads lost to Leake last week in Madden and look to remain in the hunt for a top seed in the district tournament.

The Lady Raiders, although at 5-1 are in second place behind Leake with the same record because Leake had
a larger margin of victory in the second game. The Raiders, who've lost four in a row are 3-3 and in the middle of the pack.

West Point continues their break from district play when they host Starkville tonight. It will be the third time these teams have met this season with the Yellojackets winning the previous two games.

The Green Wave boys are coming off a tough loss to Aberdeen while girls had edged out a win over the Lady Bulldogs. Both try to gain some momentum heading into Friday's road test with Oxford.
