West Point falls to New Hope 5-1

Friday night, the West Point Green Wave played host to the New Hope Trojans at Taylor Park. In game two of the three game series, New Hope used 5 runs on 8 hits and 4 errors to defeat West Point 5-1. The Wave only had two hits against the Trojans with seniors Freddie Reed and Bradley Ewings collecting the hits. Taking the loss for West Point on the mound was senior right-hander Tez Lane going six and one-third innings with 11 strikeouts while allowing five runs, only one was earned. West Point will return to the diamond Tuesday in Oxford against district 2-5A foe, the Oxford Chargers. Game times are 5:00 pm for junior varsity and 7:00 pm for varsity.
