In December, We Care Committee Director Luezarah “Lou” Robinson made it a point to give out free goodies to individuals in need of extra food supplies. Beginning at 8 a.m. today at the Luezarah Robinson Healthcare Care building located on Highway 45 Alt. N., Robinson is set to give away leftover treats.
At the previous giveaway, Robinson incorporated a relatively quick and painless application process to gauge who was in sincere need of a little care package.
Robinson said she wanted to be fair to everybody but wanted to make sure food was reserved for individuals who were more in need of the extra food supply.
“I try to be fair,” said Robinson. “ ... We try to do what we can for everybody. We try to stick that — I want to help the needy people, not the people just passing by.”
After 5 p.m. hit at the last giveaway, Robinson sent some of the leftovers to area churches, so they, too, could pass out food to individuals in need.
But today, Robinson is set on keeping the spirit of giving alive.
“I’m trying to continue to give (food) out,” Robinson said. “We just want to continue to bless people.”
