Voter registration deadline is Saturday

October 3, 2012

The first in a string of presidential debates is a good indicator that election day is right around the corner.
That also means that there are only a few more days to register to vote and be eligible for the November 6 election. District 4 Election Commissioner and County Chairman Wendy Fuller is encouraging everyone who has not registered to do so as soon as possible.
“The deadline is Saturday, and the courthouse will be open,” Fuller said on Tuesday morning.
Fuller says that the county courthouse should be open in the morning from 8 a.m. until noon, giving those who wish to vote in November that final opportunity.
Potential voters really need to get this taken care of prior to Saturday if at all possible. Any hangups that occur on Saturday morning might hinder someone’s eligibility for this election.
Most people are talking a lot about the presidential election, but Mississippians will also be voting on a U.S. Senate seat, as well as seats from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts.
Voter registration will go on for the remainder of the week as well as on Saturday. Visit the county courthouse during its regular business hours to complete the registration process.
