The Hebron Christian Eagles football team fell to Winona Christian 26-6 Friday night.

The loss ended the Eagles playoff hopes and gave Winona the district championship and a spot in the postseason.

Winona (7-2, 3-0 District) got on the scoreboard first with a Ben Bowman 8-yard touchdown scamper.  Jon Morgan Carpenter converted the 2-point conversion to give the Stars a 8-0 lead.

Hebron (4-6, 1-2), however, would close in on the lead before the end of the quarter.

A 15-yard scoring strike from Yance Falkner to Blake Harrell cut the lead to two.

Winona would go on to score twice in the second quarter to extend its lead.

A 3-yard scoring plunge by Shawn Pee gave Winona a 14-6 lead.

Winona's Rex Bingham made it a two-touchdown lead when he scored from 58 yards out.

Pee sealed the Stars victory in the third quarter with his second touchdown - this time from four yards out.

Hebron, who gained 235 total yards on the night, was led by Ryan Pinnix with 56 rushing yards on nine carries.  J.D. Edwards added 61 yards, including 26 rushing yards.

Defensively, the Eagles were led by Hearne Foster and Mitch Fondren with six tackles each.

Mark Vaughn and Harrell added five tackles.  Edwards had five tackles and an interception.

Pinnix recovered two fumble recoveries.
