Victim in critical condition following 5th Street shooting

An early morning shooting in West Point Saturday left one man critically injured and has authorities looking for additional suspects after making an arrest.

Initially, officers responded at around 2 a.m. Saturday morning to a call of a man shot at a residence on 5th Street.

The victim was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center - West Point and was then immediately airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Joshua Maurice Ewing was arrested, charged with accessory after the fact and is still in the Clay County Jail. It is unclear if he will face any additional charges. Despite Ewing being arrested for accessory, WPPD confirms it is still looking for three other suspects. No descriptive information on the suspects has been provided at this time.

Bond has not been set for Ewing and no court date has been scheduled.

WPPD last said the victim is still in critical condition.
