Vaudine Mae Landess

Vaudine Mae Landess, age 100 years and 2 days, passed away, on Thursday, March 28, 2013
at Dugan Memorial Home, in West Point.
She was born March 26, 1913 in Kennedy, Alabama to the late Alice Ashcraft and Willis Sanders. She was a Dietician and head of the West Point School System Cafeteria for 10 years. She was a member of First Christian Church. Mrs. Landess was a top notch Bridge Player and could outplay anyone including her son.
She was preceded her in death by her husband of 49 years, Foster Landess, who died December 28, 1985. 
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 31, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kirby Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Lynn Flanagan of Jackson, two sons, Dr. Elmer Willis Landess (Betsy) of Clarksdale and Joe Landess (Eva) of Ooltewah, TN; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her 104-year-old sister, Eunice Skinner of Gulfport. Preceding her in death were daughter, Nancey Landess Gideon,  Two Brothers, O. S. Sanders, and Lummy Sanders and her son in law John Flanagan.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Landess, Neal Myers, Bobby Fulgham, Stephen Williams, James Edward Cook, and Clovis Duncan.

Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 p. m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at Calvert Funeral Home.
