Turner, family accept Senate Resolution

The Senate on Monday, January 28, 2013, presented Senate Concurrent Resolution 502 in honor of former Senator Bennie L. Turner, to his family. Standing left to right are Senators John Horhn, David Jordan, Melanie Sojourner, Senator Angela Turner, who was recently elected to fill her father’s former seat, Elijah Karriem, Brittany Nichols, Carolyn Karriem, Isaiah Karriem, Senator Turner’s wife and Senator Angela Turner’s mother, Edna Turner (center, holding the plaque), Justin Gunn, Mariah Karriem, Leta Calvert, Linda Luckett, Jasper Calvert, Bettye Nichols, Jalesa Nichols, Senators Robert L. Jackson, Kelvin E. Butler, Albert Butler and Hillman T. Frazier.
