Trojans looking for revenge against Wave

West Point was a thorn in the side of the New Hope Trojans last season, to say the least.
The first time the Green Wave beat the Trojans in 2009, New Hope was undefeated at 4-0. West Point, in the middle of a 14 game winning streak themselves, broke that up.
Much later in the season, the two teams met up again. This time it was the third game of the playoffs. New Hope was looking to avenge the early-season loss, but they were soundly defeated again by the Green Wave 41-21.
This week, the Trojans come to West Point with a chip on their shoulder, trying to be the second Golden Triangle team to defeat West Point at home in 2010, as Starkville did three weeks ago.
“New Hope’s fighting mad because we beat them twice last year,” West Point Head coach Chris Chambless said. “They’re going to come in here and try to take it from us like we took it from them last year.”
New Hope will not come in with an undefeated record this time, They have two losses in five games played, as they face a West Point team that has a similar record (4-1) to the one that faced them in 2009 around this time.
Chambless realizes this is going to be another tough battle, as New Hope has two wins in a row, amounting to nearly 80 points scored.
“We would like to see the same type of enthusiasm,, and the same type of crowd,” said Chambless. “It really pumps the players up. It’s going to take a total community and team effort this week.”
The Trojans will be playing extra tough, and the Green Wave need the home crowd extra loud.
“We’re going to have to battle with them all night long.” Chambless said.
Kickoff time will be 7 p.m.
