There is still time to get kids signed up for the city’s youth basketball league, but time is running out fast.
Tomorrow will be the final day kids can be added.
The Parks and Recreation Department extended the deadline, which was originally December 30, giving locals more time to sign up.
With the hard economic times still upon most, and Christmas just past, Parks Director James Crowley said that they took the measure to alleviate some of that pressure.
Parks Assistant Director Jarrod McDaniel said that someone will be at the Parks office on Saturday morning for the sign-ups.
Also going on is baseball, softball and t-ball sign-ups for the youth Dizzy Dean league that will start in early April.
Sign-ups for that will run through the end of February.
Going on right now at the department is the city’s adult league basketball championships.
Tonight, games will be played from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Tomorrow morning, the city will start the final round at 10 a.m., with the final game being played at 1 p.m.
These games will be held at Central Gym.
Call 494-3214 for more information on sign-up dates and game times.
