Three Arrested In Stabbing Death

October 29, 2012

West Point, MS, October 29, 2012:  On Saturday October 28 officers of the West Point Police Department responded to an E911 call to Stop One Deli on the corner of Division and Bugg Street.  Upon arrival officers discovered that a man had been involved in an altercation with three females and was suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Payne was confronted at the store by the three women but it’s unclear if he was involved in a relationship with any of them.  An argument ensued which led to the stabbing.  Officers immediately began a search for the assailants and were able to locate and arrest two of the females during a traffic stop in close proximity to the crime scene.
The victim, 27 yr. old Marcus Payne of Hamilton, MS., was transported to the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point but later died of his injuries while being transferred to the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  The third suspect, who fled the scene in a separate vehicle, remained at large until Sunday afternoon.  She turned herself in to authorities and was taken into custody without incident at about 4:30pm.
Being held in the Clay County Jail pending charges of murder is 24 yr. old Natisha Latoria Roby, 27 yr. old Latwanna Santric Roby both of 7th Ave Macon, MS. and 22 yr. old Shunbrica Andrea Roby of Columbus, Ms.  According to Chief Brinkley of the West Point Police Department, “This is another tragic incident and it’s a stark reminder that the potential for violence is increasing in our communities.  It appears that we are seeing more and more females actively engaging in acts of violence.”
This incident is still under investigation and anyone with information about the case is asked to call the West Point Police Department.
