CALHOUN - Hebron pitcher Chloe Tapley reached 1,000 strikeouts for her career on Monday while helping the Lady Eagles secure their fifth consecutive post-season birth in a 12-1 win over Calhoun Academy.
Tapley struck out 13 batters and needed just seven to break the milestone and extend her total to 1,006 in 646 career innings. She has a total of 199 Kâ€™s in 100 innings this season.

â€śI am happy for the seniors to have a chance to continue to play a little longer and I am glad all those young ones can see some reward for their efforts,â€ť head coach Cass Tapley said. â€śI do see us starting to get a little better focus and maybe a little swagger.â€ť
Hebron kicked off the scoring in the first inning with scores by Alaina Hill, Chloe Tapley, and Tori Nichols.
The visitors made it 7-0 after a four run second inning effort before adding five more in the fifth to get the victory with runs by Hannah Loper, Brynn Latham, Brooke Griffin, Hill, and RJ Falkner.
Not only did Chloe Tapley have a solid performance in the circle, she led the team at the plate with a pair of hits, two runs scored and three RBI. Nichols, Blake and Holly Hudson also knocked home a pair of runs in the win. Hebron out hit Calhoun 9-3.
The Lady Eagles have circled September 19 when they host Winona for the district title. It will also be senior night.View more articles in:
