November 26, 2013

The West Point Police Department is investigating the Friday robbery of the Highway 45 Package Store.
Officers were dispatched at about 5:45 p.m. Friday to 524 Hwy. 45 alternate North in reference to a robbery in progress.
Upon questioning, the alleged victim and proprietor reported to police that while cleaning a rug outside of the building, an unidentified man approached him from the rear of the store. According to a press release issued by the WPPD, the offender was allegedly wearing a “face mask with long white hairs” poking through it along with a camouflage jacket “with holes in it.” The offender was also wearing gloves and blue jeans at the time of the crime.
As per the victims, the man is said to have possessed a “silver or chrome” plated handgun with which he used to force the victims to the back of the store and demand money from the register.
The offender allegedly took an undisclosed amount of cash and proceeded to flee north on foot.
First responders were on scene within two minutes of the call, but were unable to locate the suspect
